sounds like there's a good chance we're getting a third Tron movie

According to Ain't it Cool News, we've got info on the teaser for the next Tron movie! Just three scenes, but I think they cover the very most important bits:

• Alan confronts Ram's user, who was apparently running Flynn Lives and is currently destroying all the data. Ram's user says "Why did Kevin give you the cool name?", referring to the fact that Flynn apparently sometimes called Alan "Tron" after he came back from ENCOM's Grid. (I'll see if I can dig up wherever that came up, unless somebody already has a link.)


• Quorra arrives at ENCOM on Sam's Ducati, which attracts the attention of the press. She tells them she just spoke with Kevin Flynn yesterday.


• The Edward Dillingers Sr. and Jr. having a "just as planned" moment.

So we have a canonical tie-in to viral marketing, Flynn apparently continuing to live (that big glowy TRANSFERRED on screen at the end of Legacy = significant), and the return of one or more Dillingers as real-world villain. If we get Lora and Tron himself back everything will be right with the world.

I am very hopeful about this. (And gleeful that we may now know the name of Ram's User.~)

The reference to Kevin calling Alan 'Tron' is in the Alan Bradley ENCOM interview; it was somewhere on Youtube last time I checked.

According to the actual Flynn Lives website, it's run by a guy named Zack, but we'll see if the writers stick with that.

I saw some of that since commenting here -- whoever was building up that extended universe did a fantastic job. In the middle of the plans for Flynn Lives to crash the ENCOM interview, Zack cautions the members not to freak Alan out: "We want him to know we're on his side - he's one of us." *d'awwwws* And there's a clip of his voice floating around that sounds very much like Dan Shor! *so excited*
